Dear Parents:
Please check your child's backpack as their green Communication folder came home today with important information about what is expected of them over the summer, in preparation for Third Grade! Included in the folder was a letter from Miss Foley (3A) and Miss Lyons (3B) along with their Summer Packet which needs to be completed and returned to school in September! There is a Stationery list as well, asking that the children keep their Second Grade pencil bags and the various items needed to begin the school year. Don't forget to buy Contact Paper to cover their books! Please know that I had a wonderful year with your children and I feel blessed to be a part of the St. Gen's community. I wish you all a wonderful summer!
We will attend the 9:00 A.M. Mass. Please join us if you are able! Dismissal will be from the classrooms at 10:00 A.M. All bus service is available, except for Colonial and Wissahickon.
Many thanks too, to my homeroom parents and volunteers, and all the fun activities the children enjoyed!
Love,
Mrs. McDonnell

Spelling - write all 15 spelling words two times, neatly in their Spelling copybook. We took time this morning to set our copybooks up in the fashion I would like them to practice their words. All challenge words (which there are five) will always be written on the right side of their paper, one under the other, as you will see in their books.
Please continue to cover books. There are quite a few of my students whose books are not all covered. All copy books, ELA books, Religion books, Math books and Handwriting books should be covered in clear contact paper. The Science lab books do not need to be, but if you wish you can. The green homework book does not need to be covered, but it is your choice.
If you are not interested in purchasing the KID STUFF coupon booklet given out at Back to School Night, please return it to me, or send in your check for $25.00 in the envelope provided. If you would like another one, please let me know and I can send it home with your child.

TUESDAYS - Spanish and Music
THURSDAYS - Art - please be sure you have sent in an Art Smock (an old large t-shirt is great, again with their name somewhere on it)
FRIDAYS - Library and Technology. Library books will need to be sent in by Thursday or Friday mornings so they can be returned properly before selecting another one.
